EP Registered Nurse - Cardiology EP Lab

 

Location: Boston, MA 
Department: Cardiology EP Lab Clinician 
Schedule: 06:30 - 07:00, with on-call requirements 

 

 

Job Summary

 

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced EP Registered Nurse to join the internationally recognized Cardiac Arrhythmia Service and Electrophysiology (EP) Lab. This is a long-term assignment where you will be a critical member of the patient care team, providing advanced care to patients undergoing cutting-edge procedures for heart rhythm disorders. You will work both independently and as part of a collaborative team, maintaining a high standard of professionalism and patient-centered care.

 

Qualifications
  • Education: Current Massachusetts Nursing License required. A Bachelor's degree in nursing is preferred.
  • Experience: A minimum of 2 years of experience in a critical care setting is required. Advanced knowledge of interventional procedures for acute cardiac/circulatory/respiratory emergencies is preferred.
  • Certifications: Active BLS and ACLS certification required.
  • Skills/Abilities:
    • Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to demonstrate sound judgment and initiative in a rapidly changing, fast-paced environment.
    • Strong analytical and organizational skills to prioritize multiple tasks.
    • Proficiency with computers and cardiac diagnostic and mapping systems.
    • Physical capability to lift and position patients and equipment.
    • Ability to work with adult, elderly, and critically ill patients, as well as in emergency situations.
    • Flexibility regarding shift coverage and overtime.
Working Conditions
  • This is a fast-paced, high-volume, high-acuity interventional patient care environment.
  • The role requires physical effort to lift and position patients and radiographic equipment.
  • Exposure to radiation during fluoroscopy and digital acquisition is expected.
  • There is a risk of needle sticks and exposure to blood, waste products, and contagious diseases.
  • The work environment includes constant changes in lighting.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities\n\nProvide and maintain a therapeutic environment for patients and families, demonstrating advanced knowledge of cardiovascular pathophysiology.\nUtilize equipment, supplies, and nursing resources efficiently and appropriately.\nFacilitate consistent and efficient information flow among all staff and ensure all documentation and billing requirements are met.\nCommunicate and educate effectively with patients, families, and all levels of staff.\nAdhere to all hospital, department, and regulatory agency policies, including radiation safety protocols.\nRemain current on developments and trends in electrophysiology, participating in ongoing education and training.\nActively support MGH's Mission, Vision, and Values, and departmental initiatives.\nParticipate in research, quality improvement, and other service-related projects.\n\nMGB-23619
