**Job Title: OB Nurse - Labor and Delivery/Nursery**

**Shift:** 07:00 - 19:00
**Weekly Hours:** Guaranteed 36 hours
**Location:** Acute Care Setting

**Job Description:**
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate OB Nurse with experience in Labor and Delivery and Nursery care. This role is essential in providing high-quality care to our patients in a supportive and efficient healthcare environment.

**Key Responsibilities:**
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to mothers and newborns in the Labor and Delivery unit and Nursery.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals in a teamwork-focused atmosphere.
- Monitor and assess the health and progress of patients during labor and delivery.
- Implement and evaluate nursing care plans tailored to each patient's needs.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of both mothers and infants during their stay.
- Participate in patient and family education regarding ongoing care needs and discharge planning.
- Maintain accurate documentation utilizing electronic health record (EHR) systems.

**Unit Information:**
- Trauma Level: Level 3 OB
- Patient Ratios: Per A1 Guidelines
- Number of Beds: 3 Labor and Delivery, 9 OB, 14 Nursery, and 3 Intermediate Nursery
- Equipment: General OB unit equipment
- Supervisor: Bevin Sedgwick

**Qualifications:**
- Minimum of 1 year to 18 months of clinical experience as an OB Nurse, specializing in Labor and Delivery and Nursery care.
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, Intermediate fetal monitoring or above, STABLE for nursery.
- Strong clinical skills, critical thinking abilities, and excellent interpersonal communication.

**Personality Fit:**
Must possess a compassionate demeanor and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

**Additional Notes:**
- The OB unit generally has a low volume with less than 15 deliveries per month.
- Flexibility is required to float to different units if necessary due to census.
