Position Summary

A Senior Software Engineer has sufficient experience (typically over 5 years) to write software without technical supervision. They are responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality software solutions. They collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver new features, ensure application performance, and mentor junior engineers. A Senior Software Engineer has a strong background in software development, excellent problem-solving skills, and a passion for staying current with industry trends and technologies. They require little day-to-day management, and their experience allows them to undertake pieces of work, break them down into achievable plannable parts that may be worked on independently or by others. They should have a solid understanding of C#, SQL, MVC, WPF, and modern software construction techniques and principles.

What You'll do as a Senior Software Engineer

  1. Write and update software independently, using the latest tools and techniques.
  2. Provide technical guidance on software matters to team members.
  3. Participate in code reviews and offer constructive feedback.
  4. Manage work item priorities to minimize risk and ensure timely delivery of new features.
  5. Promote high-quality software development practices and address issues proactively.
  6. Identify and fix bottlenecks and bugs.
  7. Maintain code quality standards.
  8. Demonstrate soft skills, fostering a positive work culture.
  9. Serve as a positive role model for the team.
  10. Collaborate professionally with other disciplines, managing stakeholder relationships (e.g., QA & BA teams).
  11. Exhibit a reliable, hardworking work ethic.

The Experience, Skills, and Abilities Needed

  1. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  2. 5+ years of professional software development experience.
  3. Proficiency in programming languages such as C#, .NET, SQL.
  4. Strong understanding of software development principles and design patterns.
  5. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  6. Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
  7. Experience with agile development methodologies.
  8. Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) is a plus.

Pay range: $105,400.00 - $136,400.00. This position is eligible for bonuses.

Minimum pay rates will comply with local minimums if higher than the listed range. Pay is based on factors including experience, education, certifications, and other relevant criteria.
