Capability Unit

Metrea Advanced Signals (MAS) specializes in signal classification, direction finding, advanced geolocation techniques, and waveform development including waveforms for MANET and LPI / LPD applications. MAS also develops special purpose radios for government customers and licenses DF and geolocation solutions to multiple OEMs.

Position Summary

Metrea Advanced Signals (MAS) is seeking a Radar Engineer to join our fast-paced team, specializing in cutting-edge military communications and signals intelligence products. Roles and Responsibilities

  1. Design and implement radar hardware and software solutions from the requirements phase to product delivery.
  2. Collaborate with or assist the management team in the generation of proposals, schedules, and budgets related to radar technology research, development, and production.
  3. Partner with RF engineers to design radar solutions aligned with Metrea's innovation strategy.
  4. Collaborate with software teams during the product design, integration, new product introduction, and production phases.
  5. Program in C, C++, Python.
  6. Collaborate with Manufacturing on quick turn demo and prototype systems, and provide technical support for existing products.
  7. Work with Test Engineering to incorporate design for testability, develop test plans and test fixtures.
  8. Apply signal processing concepts such as filtering, mixing, sampling, and FFTs.
  9. Coordinate with outside vendors to develop custom components or assemblies.

Skills and Experience

  • PhD / Masters degree in Computer or Electrical Engineering preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in Radar or related electrical engineering activities.
  • Demonstrated radar algorithm design experience.
  • Experience developing ELINT systems and processor-based system design (Microcontroller, Microprocessor, DSP).
  • Experience in documentation including specifications, proposals, schematics, and engineering change notices.
  • Desired experience (not required): Machine learning, sampling and control systems, FPGA development, Electronic Warfare techniques, Git, Gitlab, JIRA, Notion, Confluence, AWS, Docker, RF communications / Radarsystems.

Position Type and Hours

This is a full-time position, typically Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Hours may vary according to department and business needs. Exempt employees must be on-call as needed; non-exempt employees may work over 40 hours with approval.

Occasional travel may be required at the discretion of the department manager.
