Optum is looking for a dedicated Radiation Therapist to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a key part in enhancing patient care and ensuring a smooth radiation therapy experience at our North Las Vegas, Nevada location.

Your role will involve:

• Helping patients feel comfortable and confident throughout their radiation therapy journey.
• Accurately setting up and positioning patients for effective radiation treatment while explaining the process to them.
• Regular warm-up and operational checks of treatment machines and simulators, reporting any issues to senior staff.
• Producing quality radiographs and photographing treatment areas for patient records.
• Maintaining continuous audio and visual contact with patients during their treatment sessions.
• Scheduling daily treatments and ensuring precision in patient marking throughout the therapeutic process.
• Educating patients on potential side effects and maintaining clear communication with the Radiation Oncologist.
• Verifying patients' weights weekly and ensuring that they receive comprehensive care throughout their treatment.

We offer a $7,500 sign-on bonus for external candidates, and our hourly pay ranges from $34.23 to $61.15, depending on your experience and qualifications.

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Formal training in Radiation Therapy.
• Current Nevada State license.
• Current CPR certification.
• ARRT certification in Radiation Therapy.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in an acute care hospital setting (1+ years).
• Previous work as a Radiation Therapist (1+ years).
• Familiarity with Aria, Varian linear accelerators/Truebeam, GE CT scanners/simulation, SBRT/SRS.
• Experience with radiation-producing equipment.
• Physical capability for some lifting tasks.
