SUMMARY Arcticom, a company within the BSNC family, is currently seeking a qualified
Front-End Web Developer in Suitland, MD. This front-end developer position involves developing and maintaining web applications using JavaScript-based frameworks, particularly Angular.

- Developing and maintaining web applications using JavaScript-based frameworks, particularly Angular (including Angular Material UI).
- While primarily a front-end role, some experience with server-side frameworks, particularly Java and JSP, is preferred as you'll occasionally overlap and back up our Senior Java Developer.
- Designing applications and refactoring code for optimal design, performance, modularization, and to eliminate redundancies.
- Commitment to code security and integrity, utilizing tools like GitHub code scanning and CodeQL to identify and remediate vulnerabilities.

Required (Minimum Necessary) Qualifications - A bachelor's degree is required
- 3-5 years of experience in Front-End Web Development
- Ability to work independently with minimal oversight.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics - Strong experience developing and maintaining web applications using JavaScript-based frameworks, particularly Angular (including Angular Material UI). Familiarity with other frameworks, such as React and Vue, is a plus.
- Experience with Docker (or similar) for local development, testing, and deployment to various application environments.
- Experience developing and maintaining applications in cloud environments, whether on Virtual Machines (VMs) or in containerized clusters.
- Experience with DevOps best practices, including:
- Writing and maintaining code using GitHub, including familiarity with branching strategies (e.g., GitFlow), release management, rebasing, and maintaining clean commit history.
- Working with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins or GitHub Actions) to create and maintain automated build and deployment processes
- Solid understanding of JavaScript, HTML, CSS, jQuery, and Bootstrap.
- Experience with service-oriented architecture and microservices, especially working with RESTful API services. You'll architect applications and refactor code for optimal design, performance, modularization, and to eliminate redundancies.
- Familiarity with Node.js applications and managing packages using npm.

The job is performed in an office setting with exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, mouse, and multi-line telephone system. The work described herein is primarily in a modern office setting. Occasional travel may be required.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES - No supervisory responsibilities.
